All About SoapRocks

Hello all you gemstone lovers and rockhounds! Today I’m going to tell you about SoapRocks! Each soap is $18, for any shape or color. I love these soaps, and I personally have three already, one for my bathroom, one for my kitchen, and one for a shower bar.

All of us at KD Fine Jewelers found out about SoapRocks from my coworker Nancy, because her sister works for the SoapRocks company in upstate New York. Nancy brought her SoapRock in to show us, and we were charmed. They are simply beautiful, and we love that they are made right here in the USA.

Each SoapRock is styled to look like a specific rock, gem, or mineral specimen, and the color goes all the way through – it’s not just a surface treatment! Each soap has its own scent too, and all of them smell good. (I wish you could smell them through the video, but there is also a fragrance listed on each SoapRock page.) I am always amazed at just how realistic SoapRocks look, and I’ve had many people ask me if the rocks are real when they see them on the shelf!

One thing I love about these soaps is how they transform over time. At first, they look like a natural crystal formation, with facets and points. Over time, the edges get rounded out, and they start to look like sea glass or rocks naturally tumbled in a river.

SoapRocks are a gentle and long-lasting vegetable glycerin soap. They contain no animal products and are also never tested on animals. Because of the complexity of these soaps, up to 180 steps are needed to create each beautiful SoapRock!

I find these soaps to be less drying than other hand soaps, because of the natural oils like olive oil, jojoba oil, and almond oil. A full list of ingredients can be found in the product description in each SoapRock listing. 🙂

I will be honest, using my Black Opal SoapRock when washing my hands always makes me smile. I am someone who tends to be a little anxious, and I love having reminders of nature’s beauty inside that I get to use every day. Especially as we endure another April snow in Minnesota, I appreciate having a little sparkly reminder of nature inside the house.
