Therefore they have been cut in a wide variety of shapes ranging from round, oval, square, rectangle and fancy cuts such as step cut diamonds.

The marquis and oval shaped diamonds were very popular in the 1950’s.

But as cutting and faceting techniques advanced, princess cuts, hearts and pear shaped diamonds gained popularity alongside the traditional round diamond shape.

There are over 10 different diamond shapes, all of which have enjoyed the spotlight at a variety of different points in history.

A diamond’s value is based on four major factors: Cut, Color, Carat size and Clarity.
