There is some evidence that the word “topaz” comes from the Sanskrit word tapas, meaning “fire.” Other experts have traced it back to a similar sounding work from ancient Greece, topazos. Ancient Greeks believed that topaz awarded the wearer strength.
Citrine’s name comes from the Latin word citrina, which means “yellow”. Citrine is a yellow variety of quartz crystal!
Both topaz and citrine are thought to have calming energy, bringing warmth to the wearer. Some even say that topaz and citrine are supposed to bring good fortune to those who wear it!
